How do your *live* classes work?
Live
painting classes take place in our virtual classroom... an html
enhanced room, powered by java, giving teachers the ability to provide
project illustrations and step-by-steps during the course of the
lesson. Prep instructions are given out to students prior to
class, then the class piece is worked through just as in a traditional
class setting. Students are free to ask questions, make comments,
etc. Students with a scanner or digital camera may even scan and
easily send images of their project for your teacher to view! Be sure
to check out our "sample" classroom to see how it works!
I don't have time for live classes, can I study on my own?
Class materials including color photo, line drawing, instructions, step-by-step images
and the class log are all available for download and self-study.
The student has access
to the teacher for any questions, critiquing, etc.. as desired!
What painting styles can I expect?
Our members are as varied as our art form itself! It is our goal to bring projects in
all styles and skill levels. To date we have had class content
which includes beginner
strokes, florals, fruits, landscapes, folk-art, primitive, intermediate
strokes, birds,
snowmen, glass, crockery, face study, etc... Our paint of choice
would be acrylics,
however, we also teach a few classes with other mediums such as oil glazes, watercolors, etc.
But I'm just a beginner...
Beginners are welcome! We have special helps and tutorials to help you learn the basics
and advance your skills! You may even join in our "mentor" program and be paired with a more
experienced painter who will be happy to help you along your journey!
But I'm advanced...
Advanced painters will enjoy the variety of styles and techniques represented here on the site.
Participate in our monthly challenges to stretch your skills! You may also consider submitting to teach,
or choose to mentor a less experienced member!
